Push advertising is dying out and has been for some time, (along with hard core selling, call centers, telemarketing, survey based product development, etc.) This has nothing to do with ‘new technologies’ replacing an old one. It’s that our social habits as consumers have changed, in fact, customers have already changed the way they educate themselves and each other, the way they want to be treated, and most importantly, the way they choose now to interact with product or service providers.

Is there one type of advertising that still works and people love?
Yes

Is there such a thing as better advertising?
Yes

Why does most advertising no longer work?
"Our social habits as consumers have changed"

Social Media For Business | Advertising By Your Customers

How it works. You listen online to your customers, prospects and partners in real time, instantly discovering successes and issues, interacting openly, contributing, taking action, adjusting, changing, growing, identifying better services, improving products, talking with your customers and helping them with their experiences using your products and services and then watch your customers talk and recommend you, your products and your services.

When this happens it's the ultimate success in advertising. Call it real time advertising by your customers, word of mouth on the 'social web', or call it social media for business.

Begin now (if you have not started) and continue with redirecting efforts and advertising budgets on ‘real time advertising by your customers’.
