The importance of social media online profiles

View my profile on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter has become a great thing to place on your web places to help people discover a bit more about who you are and some of your interests.

Your online profiles

Online Profiles

I’m attending the SOMA 2009 Spring Semester Social Media Leadership Class and learning exactly how to help business people understand the impact (and importance) of social media. I was looking through my class notes and noticed I have some catching up to do on updating my online profiles.

Having [nice, acceptable, helpful] online profiles are one part of modernizing your web presence and they are a key element in the ‘network aspects’ of social media.

I’m guessing your profiles …definitely my profiles …there is work to be done.

Your online profile photo

Have a nice photo – nice meaning one that represents you. Leaning slightly forward in your portrait is best I read on a social media profiles post. Is leaning slightly forward really a good idea for bald-headed people? I guess if you’re bald-headed it does showoff, in a very shiny way, who you are …so I’m saying yes. I have since received another tip. Keep your chin up but don’t lead with the chin. Oh my there is a lot to this. Seems a bit vain at first but I’m sure very important when it comes to connecting with friends. Enough about online profile photos. Bottom-line have a nice photo and don’t look at mine right now.

Now back to business or was that business?
